Within Words Word Sort Unit on TpT!

WHEW! I finally finished and just in time for the new school year! I was constantly trying to find good word sorts that fit into my curriculum and the needs of my students. I've now compiled 18 different word sorts to teach feature F {long vowels} to my third graders. This would also be excellent for second graders. Check it out at my TpT store here!

Tagxedo: Like Wordle but Better!

Last year I discovered Wordle and we had bunches of fun with it in third grade, but this summer I have discovered something even better......
TAGXEDO! Why do I like tagxedo better than wordle? There are LOTS of different color options, font options and design options! It is super simple to use and takes only a couple minutes to generate something. How am I using this so far in my classroom? I have designed a graphic for the welcome page on my school website and I have designed objectives for my hallway bulletin board. What are your ideas for Tagxedo?

QR Codes in the Classroom

Have you started using QR codes in your classroom yet?
If you aren't, you need to start! After all, we are teaching in the 21st century! While The Jetsons used to seem like such a far fetched cartoon when we were younger, technology is here to stay and teachers need to keep up! Making QR codes is very easy and doesn't take much time at all! All you need to do is visit quirify to get started! I have made a QR code with my contact information that I am going to display on my school website and also hang by my door for Back to School Night. All the parents have to do is scan it into their smartphone and my info. is there to stay. No more having to send off my contact info. over and over! I've also made a QR code to link directly to my TpT Store . Go ahead, get out your smartphone, make sure you have a free QR Reader and scan the code! It will take you directly to my store!
I also plan on making QR codes that link up to quia comprehension tests and gluing them into the chapter books in our class library. How do you use QR codes in your class?
